NEWHA Weekly Awards: Week 1
Player of the Week
Brooklyn Schneiderhan, Saint Anselm College
The Hawks' senior captain posted five points to top the league leaderboard in a 2-0-0 weekend against Saint Michael's. The Helena, Mont. native posted a point on every goal in Friday's season-opening victory over Saint Michael's, 3-2, finishing with a +2 plus/minus. She also registered a pair of goals with a +2 plus/minus rating in Saturday's 4-2 victory at home.
Defensive Player of the Week
Justyce Ohlgren, Saint Anselm College
The sophomore scored two goals, including the game-winner, as she posted the first multi-goal performance of her career in a 3-2 win over Saint Michael's on Friday. She added an assist in Saturday's 4-2 victory over the Purple Knights. Over the course of the weekend sweep, the Rogers, Minn. native finished with a +1 plus/minus rating.
Goaltender of the Week
The Sharks began the 2025-26 campaign 1-0-0 thanks in large part to the junior netminder's 24-save performance in LIU's season-opening 4-1 victory at Delaware on Friday night. The Milwaukee, Wis. native holds a .960 save percentage and 1.00 goals-against average.
Rookie of the Week
Kayla Czukoski, Saint Anselm College
The freshman from Exton, Pa. backstopped the Hawks to a 2-0-0 weekend over Saint Michael's to put Saint Anselm at the top of the league standings. She made 26 stops in a 3-2 victory on Friday night before posting 24 saves in Saturday's 4-2 win to finish the weekend with a .926 save percentage and a 2.00 goals-against average.
