Franklin Pierce and Saint Anselm Advance to NEWHA Championship Game
WINTHROP, Mass. – With a pair of 2-1 victories in the semifinal round, No. 1 Franklin Pierce and No. 3 Saint Anselm are set to face off in the New England Women's Hockey Alliance Championship on Saturday, March 7 at 7:00 pm. at the Jason Ritchie Ice Arena.
Saint Anselm (19-17-1) used a two-goal performance from senior Brooklyn Schneiderhan, as well as 44 saves by freshman goaltender Kayla Czukoski, to down second-seeded Assumption on Wednesday afternoon at the Worcester Ice Center and advance to the NEWHA Championship for the first time since the 2022-23 campaign.
In a double overtime thriller in Winchendon, the top seeded Ravens (22-11-2) secured a 2-1 victory over No. 4 Stonehill on Wednesday night. After the Skyhawks took a 1-0 lead with 7:40 to play, the Ravens used a power play goal from sophomore Hailey Anderson scored with 2:43 left in regulation to send the game to overtime. After a scoreless 20 minutes of extra hockey, freshman Abigail Broz scored the game-winner on the power play to punch the Ravens' ticket to the NEWHA title game for the first time in two seasons.
The Hawks and Ravens on Saturday night with a trip to the National Collegiate Championship on the line. Franklin Pierce owns a 2-1-1 record over four games played in the 2025-26 season.
