NEWHA Weekly Awards: Week 9
Player of the Week
Addison Andre, Franklin Pierce University
The freshman forward recorded her first career hat trick for the Ravens in Saturday's 7-0 win over Saint Michael's. She also tallied a goal in Friday's game, bringing her total to four on ten total shots in the weekend sweep for Franklin Pierce. She posted a plus-three on-ice rating in Saturday's game to finish the week +3. The South St. Paul, Minn. native's contributions helped the Ravens to a six-point NEWHA weekend.
Defensive Player of the Week
Melanie Targosz, Franklin Pierce University
The freshman defender tallied one goal and three assists for the Ravens in Saturday's 7-0 win over Saint Michael's on home ice. Her contributions helped the Ravens to a 2-0-0 conference weekend as the Ravens completed the home sweep in Winchendon. She also blocked four shots across both games and fired eight shots. The Livonia, Mich. native maintained a plus-three on-ice rating across both contests.
Goaltender of the Week
Hannah Saunders, Post University
The senior netminder recorded her 13th collegiate shutout for the Eagles in Tuesday's home matchup against Sacred Heart. She then split the weekend home-and-home against Stonehill, finishing the week with a 2-1-0 record between the pipes. She made 28 saves per game, 84 total, while only allowing five goals for a .944 save percentage. She posted a 1.67 goals-against average.
Rookie of the Week
Abby Broz, Franklin Pierce University
The freshman forward recorded four assists across both contests for the Ravens in their weekend sweep of the Purple Knights. She won 24 of her 34 faceoffs (70.6%) and tallied seven total shots in the pair of victories. The White Bear Lake, Minn. native recorded a plus-two on-ice rating for the weekend to help the Ravens secure the weekend sweep.
