MADISON, Wis. – In their first National Collegiate Women's Hockey Championship appearance, the Franklin Pierce Ravens fell to the No. 7/7 Quinnipiac Bobcats by a final score of 4-0 in Thursday night's Regional Semifinal contest at LaBahn Arena.
Senior goaltender Jill Hertl (Highland Park, Ill.) made 19 saves in the opening period as the game remained scoreless at the first intermission.
Despite a goal scored in the second period which was called back due to offsides, the Bobcats were able to score within the last two minutes of the period, giving them a 1-0 edge after 40 minutes.
The Bobcats were able to extend their lead with two more goals, falling to Quinnipiac 4-0.
Hertl finished with 49 saves in the loss while senior Maggie Korneta (Naperville, Ill.) posted six shots on target. Freshman Melanie Targosz (Livonia, Mich.) and junior Jenna Sharland (San Jose, Calif.) both recorded three blocks.
The Ravens concluded the 2025-26 season with one of the most historic performances in program history, collecting multiple New England Women's Hockey Alliance major awards, winning the NEWHA Tournament, and winning the NEWHA regular season title.
