Player of the Week
Bo Dean, Franklin Pierce University
The sophomore forward had a dominant offensive performance over the weekend, helping the Ravens to two conference road victories against Saint Michael's. In Friday's game, she scored her first career hat trick in the Ravens' 6-0 shutout win. She followed that up by adding two more goals in Saturday's dominant 5-1 win. In both contests, she scored the game-winning goal for the Ravens. Across the two games, she totaled five total points on five goals and tallied 14 shots. She finished the weekend with a plus-four on-ice rating. The Toronto, Ontario native's offensive surge powered the Ravens to a weekend sweep, allowing them to reclaim their position atop the NEWHA standings with a 17-7-2 NEWHA conference record.
Defensive Player of the Week
Justina Valentini, Assumption University
The junior defender continued her outstanding two-way play this weekend to help the Greyhounds to their weekend series sweep of Saint Anselm. In Friday's home contest, she recorded two assists in a 5-3 win. She added another assist in Saturday's 4-2 road victory, playing a key role in both ends of the ice. Across the weekend, the Minnetonka, Minn. native posted a total of three points in two games. She added two shots on goal and one block. Her two-way dominance contributed to the Greyhounds conference success this weekend, positioning them in second in the NEWHA standings.
Goaltender of the Week
Jillian Petruno, Sacred Heart University
The senior goaltender turned in a dominant weekend in net for the Pioneers who split the weekend against LIU. She posted a 1.02 goals-against average and a .966 save percentage over the two tightly contested NEWHA conference games. In Friday's contest, she stopped 31 of 31 shots faced to secure the victory over the Sharks. She followed up on Saturday with another stellar performance, making 26 saves in a narrow 1-0 loss, allowing just one goal while keeping the Pioneers within striking distance throughout. Across the two games, the Wixom Mich, native totaled 57 saves, serving as a backbone for the Sacred Heart defense over the weekend. Her .947 save percentage and 1.86 goals-against average on the season currently have her in second place and third place, respectively, among NEWHA goaltenders.
Rookie of the Week
Addison Andre, Franklin Pierce University
The freshman forward made a strong impact in Franklin Pierce's weekend road sweep at Saint Michael's. She recorded two goals and one assist, totaling three points on the weekend series. She opened the series on Friday with a goal in the Ravens' 6-0 shutout win. She followed that effort with a goal and an assist in Saturday's contest, contributing to the 5-1 victory. She finished the weekend with a plus-three on-ice rating. Over the two games, the South St. Paul, Minn. native totaled eight shots, playing a key role in Franklin Pierce's sweep and reclamation of the top spot in the NEWHA.
